About

TL;DR

Since I was small, I have always wondered the meaning of our existence and how did we got here… I believe advancing our technology would be our best shot at finding answers or even ask better questions. Then, I think technology itself is a gigantic field, so I should find something to focus on first.

I find myself already pretty good at computer stuff, but I never really understand what make them work at a fundamental level. So I decided to find out! Yeah, that’s the story. Still learning how computer and electronics really work!

Education

Bachelor of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering

The University of British Columbia • Sep 2021 - Apr 2027

Minor in Entrepreneurship

UBC Sauder School of Business • Sep 2024 - Apr 2027

Experience

Thrust Vectoring Rocket (TVR) Project Manager

UBC Rocket • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada • Sep 2025 - Present

Avionics Hardware Lead

UBC Rocket • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada • Sep 2024 - Present

  • Leading a team of 10 to build the avionics hardware for our next generation of rocket, named Sunburst

  • Designing and prototyping a next‑generation live‑telemetry and video system with >10 km range

  • Designed and assembled the next generation 8‑layer, 2-sided flight controller PCB that is 30 % smaller yet supports double the sensor count, delivering higher redundancy and more efficient use of space

Undergrad Power Electronics Researcher

Power Electronic Systems and Informatics Laboratory (PESIL) • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada • May 2025 - Aug 2025

  • Designed new gate driver circuits that can reduce the cost and size of solid-state DC circuit breakers

  • Conducted comprehensive literature reviews on gate‑driver architectures, mapping each topology’s trade‑offs to guide component selection and design strategy

  • Modeled and validated gate‑driver interactions in LTspice, capturing parasitic effects, power‑transistor dynamics, and parallel varistor behavior to ensure reliable operation under transient conditions

Avionics Hardware Designer

UBC Rocket • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada • Sep 2022 - Aug 2024

  • Designed, prototyped, and validated the radio communication PCB for the first‑generation modular radio‑communication PCB for the Beauty & the Beast rocket, earning first place in the advanced category at Launch Canada 2023 competition

  • Engineered the inaugural battery management system for the rocket’s avionics, which featured over-current and under-voltage protection

Package Engineering Intern (SI/PI & Layout)

Tenstorrent • Toronto, Ontario, Canada • Jan 2024 - Aug 2024

  • Designed die-to-die interconnect and PDN layouts for advanced and standard packages using Cadence Allegro Advanced Package Designer (APD), by considering SI/PI constraints and design rules such as trace-to-trace overlap, length matching, and maximum allowed via stack.

  • Quantified the impact of signal to ground ratio, RX/TX termination, channel length, and data rate, on eye height & width for a 2.5D chiplet die-to-die interconnect by performing parameter sweeps using Ansys electronics desktop (AEDT) HFSS

  • Documented lessons learned, tips and tricks for APD and AEDT, and the many variations of die-to-die interconnect and PDN layouts

Teaching Assistant

UBC CPEN 211 - Introduction to Microcomputers • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada • Sep 2023 - Dec 2023

  • Supervised laboratory sessions and hosted office hours to help student learn the basics of digital systems and microcomputers including breadboard circuit design, combinational and sequential circuits, SystemVerilog, Intel Quartus Prime and ModelSim-Intel
